In the first half of this year, steel pipe production continued the steady growth trend of last year, supporting the growth demand of the domestic steel pipe market. However, affected by the rising prices of iron ore, coke, scrap and other raw materials, steel pipe raw material prices rose sharply, affecting the downstream consumption intention of hot rolled steel pipe to a certain extent. In the second half of the year, the steel pipe industry faced multiple pressures from slowing economic growth, “double control” of production capacity and output, power limiting, carbon reduction and upstream raw material price fluctuations, etc., steel pipe enterprises’ profits declined and steel pipe production declined slightly.

During the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, the low-carbon development of the steel pipe industry will be guided by the development path of the whole process, focusing on the following aspects of work: first, promote technological innovation, optimize the product structure, actively research and develop energy-saving technology and equipment, reduce energy consumption, improve energy utilization efficiency; Second, promote the development of digitalization and intellectualization, and actively promote the integration of the new generation of information technology and the steel pipe manufacturing industry; Third, promote the optimization of the green energy structure of hot dipped galvanized steel pipe, actively layout the green energy industry and plan carbon assets and carbon financial markets; Fourth, promote the merger and reorganization of steel pipe enterprises, improve industry concentration and capacity utilization efficiency.
