Key steel enterprises have reached the international advanced level in water conservation and waste water treatment and emission reduction. The amount of waste water discharged by tons of steel has decreased from 4.71 tons to 0.74 tons, a decrease of 84.3%. Sulfur dioxide emissions per ton of mild steel tube fell from 2.83 kg to 0.53 kg, a reduction of 81.3 percent; The emissions of a tonne of steel smoke and dust fell from 2.18kg to 0.56kg, a reduction of 74.3%.

China’s steel industry is an industrial industry with early awareness of energy conservation and environmental protection and solid measures. Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China 70 years ago, although the iron and steel industry emerged a number of advanced green leading enterprises in energy conservation and environmental protection, but overall, the level of enterprise environmental protection is uneven. Some steel pipe suppliers have not yet achieved comprehensive and stable emission standards and some have even invested very little in energy conservation and environmental protection. Although these enterprises are not the mainstream of China’s iron and steel industry, their damage to the environment and the overall image of the iron and steel industry can not be ignored.
