How to use proper type of steel conduits in your wire systems

In our daily life, steel conduit comes in many styles and is used to run electrical wiring in exposed locations in and around our home. Wiring regulations for electrical equipment in hazardous areas may require particular types of conduit to be used to provide an approved installation. As a rule, conduit systems are generally classified by the wall thickness, mechanical stiffness, and material used to make the tubing.

In most cases, galvanized steel pipe provides very good protection to enclosed conductors from impact, moisture, and chemical vapors for many years. For certain conditions, wiring systems in buildings may be subject to frequent alterations, and frequent wiring changes are made simpler and safer through the use of steel conduit, as existing conductors can be withdrawn and new conductors installed, with little disruption along the path of the conduit. In the current steel pipe market, galvanized steel pipe are still popular among users because galvanized steel pipe has more powerful function of anti-corrosion and high temperature resistance in the wire systems. Besides, mild steel pipes become very popular in these years due to its good performance in service. First of all, mild steel pipe is frequently used because it is durable and safe. Most common wire systems may be susceptible to rotting and pests. Steel will not rot and is impervious to pests like termites. Furthermore, mild steel pipe is highly resistant to shock and vibration. For any given pressure, mild steel pipes can be made much thinner than pipes made from other materials, so they have a greater carrying capacity than pipes of other materials with the same diameter.

Today, China steel pipe manufactures have taken some active measures to diversify the steel conduits in applications in order to cater to various requirements from customers around the world. In many cases, stranded or solid wire is usually pulled through steel conduit. The size of the wire may vary, depending on the amount of amperage needed to supply the point you are feeding, and this ultimately determines the size of the conduit that you will need to install. At present, there occurs another new type of pipe, say PVC conduit made of a kind of hard material, which can also have a good effect to protect from rusting and corroding. However, when compared with electrical metallic conduit, the later can bear much more pressure than PVC pipe in the construction activities. Therefore, it seems very important for customers to select the appropriate type of pipe per as their defined practical application.
