How to choose the proper type of greenhouse in your farming project
Greenhouses are invaluable for creating a protected growing environment for tender plants and seedlings. Today, there are many different kinds of greenhouses for you to choose from in your farming project. Whether you are planning a greenhouse now? Actually, there are many considerations you take into account: location, product mix, store layout, advertising, the amount of parking needed, employee training, etc.
Solar greenhouses have proven to be energy efficient, which decrease CO2 emissions and yield high profits. Fresh vegetable production during the winter generates significant revenues for the growers. However, since sunlight provides the sole source of light and heat in the solar greenhouse, the degree of exposure to the sun determines the light conditions inside greenhouses, which varies according to the season, latitude, greenhouse structure, the aging of plastic film, and the duration of the sunshine. During the winter at high latitudes, there is less solar radiation reaching the greenhouse than in the spring and fall seasons. Areas at lower latitudes are exposed to more optimal light conditions in the winter. However, aging of the plastic film reduces its transparency.
Glass greenhouse is another popular type of greenhouses widely used in the modern farming today. In the modern agriculture, many commercial glass greenhouses or hothouses are high tech production facilities for growing vegetables, flowers and fruits. The glass greenhouses are filled with equipment including screening installations, heating, cooling, lighting, and may be controlled by a computer to optimize conditions for plant growth. Besides, different advanced techniques are then used to evaluate optimality-degrees and comfort ratio inside greenhouse (i.e., air temperature, relative humidity and vapor pressure deficit) in order to reduce production risk prior to cultivation of a specific crop.
Dong Peng Bo Da Steel Pipe Group is a famous steel pipe manufacturer in China. We are committed to providing various types of steel products for your choice in your greenhouse project. It is strongly suggested that your greenhouse should have sufficient ventilation. Roof vents are the most useful, and ideally should be on both sides of the ridge and equivalent to 15-20 percent of the floor area. Side vents are no substitute for roof ventilation, and while louvred vents allow regulation of air flow, they are hard to draught-proof in winter. Automatic openers that open or close in response to greenhouse temperatures are useful, but slow to respond and need supplementing with manual control, such as opening some windows and the door each morning. Motorized vents activated by sensitive heat sensors would be more efficient in your farming project.
