Accelerate the effective utilization of scrap steel

Strengthening the comprehensive utilization of scrap steel is an important measure for the transformation, upgrading and green development of the steel industry. The ministry of industry and information technology will promote high-quality development of the mild steel tube from several aspects.”On November 28, li li, inspector of the energy conservation and comprehensive utilization department of the ministry of industry and information technology, pointed out at the 2019 national scrap iron and steel conference held in fuzhou and the 8th council expansion meeting of the 6th China scrap iron and steel application association.

The conference is co-sponsored by China scrap iron and steel application association and Shanghai Ganglian e-commerce Holdings Co., Ltd. More than 1,000 representatives from relevant national ministries and commissions attended the meeting.Meeting on how to further promote the benign development of scrap steel industry, the implementation of relevant national preferential policies, solve tax and environmental problems of steel pipe suppliers. Chi jingdong at the meeting to analyze the development of galvanized steel pipe pointed out that in the first 10 months of this year, the total profits of the iron and steel association member enterprises declined, the sales margin fell 3.1%, which has a great correlation with the high cost of imported iron ore. The increase of raw material purchasing cost by more than 20% will affect the stable and sustainable development of the steel industry in the long run. It is estimated that the steel accumulation in 2025 will be 13 billion tons, of which construction steel accounts for about 55%. The recovery period will be more than 30 years, while the recovery period of scrap steel in the automobile industry is relatively short. Chi said that the speed of scrap utilization plays a decisive role in the process change of the steel industry, especially the short process process will have a fundamental change in the future.With the advent of appliances, car scrap climax, scrap steel will increase, resources of cold rolled round steel pipe will no longer be in short supply.

Chi believes that speeding up scrap recycling will change the way steel is produced and its layout. In the past, relying on resources, where there is iron ore, there are steel mills. In the future, the development of electric furnace steel will be based on scrap steel as raw material and electricity as energy. On the one hand, the layout will be changed, and environmental capacity is an important consideration. In environmentally sensitive areas, there is a market for electric steelmaking, and short process will replace long process. On the other hand, the way of making steel will change and the scale of enterprises and product varieties will be rematched.The transformation of process, layout and production mode of structural steel pipe will greatly promote the low-carbon green function of scrap steel.
